How to Create a Render Texture

A render texture allows your kit to be previewed in our 3D model viewer. This gives users an immersive way to see how your kit will look on a player model.

What is a Render Texture?

A render texture is a UV-mapped image that wraps around the 3D player model. Unlike the display image (which shows the kit flat), the render texture is applied directly to the model's geometry.

Requirements

  • Image format: PNG or JPG
  • Recommended size: 1024x1024 pixels
  • Layout: Must match the game's UV mapping

How to Get Your Render Texture

  1. From Game Files: Export the texture directly from the game's kit editor or mod tools. This is the original texture that gets applied to the player model.
  2. From Design Software: If you created your kit in Photoshop, GIMP, or similar software using a template, save the full UV-mapped texture (not just the preview render).
  3. Using our Texture Composer: If you use our Texture Composer tool, you can export the finished texture for use as a render texture.

Important Note

The render texture is different from the kit preview image. The preview image is what users see on the website, while the render texture is the actual texture file that wraps around the 3D model.

Render textures are optional. If you don't upload one, your kit will still be visible on the website, but the "View in 3D" feature will be unavailable for that kit.
